We stayed at the Folly for 3 weeks, 2 adults and 2 small dogs from 19th June 2026 until 10 July 2026.
The Folly is what we would call a modular self-contained L shaped unit purpose built by local craftsmen and situated in the owner’s garden!

It is a bit like the Tardis as when you get inside it is very spacious and well decorated throughout. The bonus is that it is air conditioned something we all need now the summers are getting hotter. it had everything you would require for self-catering unit. My wife and I needed for nothing. It has a very small, enclosed garden, ideal for your furry friends to go outside and is fully safe to let them run free. It also has a small parking space for 1 car.

Upon our arrival, there were fresh scones, Cornish fairing biscuits, jam and fresh Cornish cream awaiting in the kitchen. The kitchen has everything you would ever need and incorporates a dining area and lounge area all in one. It is plenty big enough for 2 adults and your furry friends.

The Folly is situated on a hill about 1/2 to 3/4 mile from the main town and can be accessed from both directions. Down the hill is a 25-minute walk along the scenic route via a stream or 15/20 mins walk up the hill then right turn onto main road leading into the town from the closest end. Naturally coming back, it will take you longer as you are going uphill!

Do not despair, if you have any form of mobility issues, as you can drive into the town in 2 or 3 minutes. A tip is not to try and park on the beach front car park near the toilet block, as this fills up very early and quickly! At the other end of the town is a Texaco garage and it has its own car park currently charging £6 all day and always had plenty of spaces most times of the day. Perranporth has 2 Co-op supermarkets, a butcher and most shops you are likely to need including a Pharmacy and Doctors Surgery.

The owners of the Folly operate a doggie grooming parlour adjacent to the entrance gate and were there most days for a friendly chat or advice should you need it. They also have contact numbers for themselves in the Folly welcoming folder.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and as "Arnie" would say "We will be Back" another small tip! should you ever need to stay anywhere in Cornwall then use "Aspect Holidays" as they are Cornwall!

This was our second stay in this lovely property. It is very comfortable, exceptionally clean and very dog friendly. The property is more spacious than it looks on the photos, the lovely little garden is secure for the dog and has a lovely view.Parking and air con are an added bonus. A short walk down the road brings you to a pub or a further 15 minutes will take you into Perranporth, we will back again soon ..

The Folly is ideal for a relaxing holiday. Close to Perranporth but without the bustle.

This is our second stay at the Folly. It’s a little home from home with wonderful views of the countryside and a lovely small private garden. The Folly is spotless throughout and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Location is perfect, just a short walk into Perranporth and easy access to the A30, so good for exploring Cornwall. The air conditioning is an added bonus for hot days. Phil was there to greet us and could not have been more helpful. We’ll be booking again.

Our second stay at the folly it was as good as we remembered a perfect location , lovely owners . The airconditioning was a real bonus especially when temperatures were over 30 ! Thoroughly recommend the folly so clean and peaceful

The Folly is a jewel in a beautiful setting. It's spotlessly clean, with a great kitchen, comfy lounge, shower room, dressing room, and a decent-sized bedroom. The well-kept garden is dog-friendly, as is the whole of the accommodation.
The unobtrusive owners live nearby and are always available to help, leaving you to enjoy your break your way.
It's only a short walk to the pub, fishing lakes, and a little further on to Perranporth and its shops, beach, and other amenities.
As Arnie once nearly said "we'll be back"!!!

The Folly, Perranporth- A perfect holiday in a quiet area close to amenities. Ideally located, our accommodation was excellent. Spotlessly clean throughout with quality furnishings and products provided. A credit to the friendly approachable owners who were available if needed.

What a lovely find the folly was so clean and welcoming. Very quiet and private. Easy to walk in to perranporth but watch out for the killer hill !! Already booked for next year . Lovely owners very helpful Phil and Tamsin.

The Folly is the perfect location for a peaceful get away and within easy walking distance of Perranporth. The accommodation was larger than we expected, is spotless and has everything you need to feel like a home from home. We loved the little garden area, which has beautiful views over the countryside. We were greeted by Phil on arrival who couldn’t have been more helpful. Overall, we loved our stay at The Folly and will be returning.

The Folly was very clean and cosy and had everything I needed, the kitchen was very well stocked. The property is a short walk into Perranporth beach by the winding river on the Saints way. Turn right out of the Folly, left at the bottom of the hill and left again under the railway arch.
I saw Phil the owner of the Folly working in the grooming parlour and he was always friendly and interested in my dogs and whether I was enjoying my holiday.
As I was alone it was nice to be nestled in-between properties but also very private.
In the property there are thoughtful pieces like the soft nightlight in the hallway.
I would not hesitate to book again when I next come to Cornwall

The Folly is a gorgeous property in a very quiet and private location, yet within easy reach of so many lovely beaches and villages. The property is very well appointed and comfortable and the lovely owners are very welcoming and helpful.

This was our first time staying at the Folly but it's the perfect place to relax and escape, with a lovely private and enclosed garden too, and we would highly recommend it - we can't wait to return there again!

The parking space was excellent as it meant we could explore other places. We saw Phil a few times he is lovely and always asked if we were ok and had everything we needed.

A super property with everything you could possibly need including some treats for us and our dog. Hosts very friendly and helpful.

The Folly is an oasis of calm and supremely comfortable cottage. Everything was perfect and it’s a great base for exploring Cornwall. Having air conditioning was an added bonus especially for summer holidays.

Perfect for us the location as we had the dog with us the accommodation was clean modern and every you needed in there would highly recommend you won’t be disappointed

The Folly is quite a tardis and was much bigger than we anticipated. It was spotlessly clean and welcoming on arrival with a few treats for us to enjoy. The property is extremely well equipped has plenty of storage space and a very comfy bed. The air conditioning was really useful as it was quite hot and humid during our stay, it didn’t need to be on long to cool everywhere down. The garden is secure and the parking is a bonus. The location is ideal if you like some peace and quiet with the beach and town just over 1/2 a mile away. We would definitely stay again and will recommend it to our friends.

Absolutely loved it perfect for the two of us and three dogs. Quirky. Very well equipped and clean. Views from the windows are lovely, pretty much home from home. The location is tranquil and yet a stones throw from Perranporth

Lovely place! Light, modern, nicely furniture and decorated, had a happy and welcoming feel about it. Very comfy bed, plenty of storage space. Coffee, tea, milk, yummy biscuits and even treat were all provided to start off our holiday. Very much appreciated! Everything we needed and more was there. We met Phil, one of the owners several times. He’s ever so nice, friendly and helpful. Fantastic stay!!

The Folly is a very cosy property very clean the furniture is just enough for the usage for two people and one pet. There is also a parking space for one car which is very welcomed the area is very peaceful We met the property owners they were very kind and helpful.

Lovely accommodation, very comfortable and modern. Secure garden for your dog with seating and great views.
Had lots of essentials in the kitchen which was very thoughtful.

AMAZING STAY
We stayed at the folly for just under to weeks, we have got to say its a fabulous little bolt hole with everything you need and more, we meet the owner and he is lovely. The beech is down the hill not too far at all.
Its real dog friendly inside and out, we could let our little sausage out on his own with no problems at all.
We already booked for 2 weeks next year can't wait.

We had a great week at the Folly. We loved the property and location just outside Perranporth. The Folly is a lovely building and suited us and our dog perfectly. Benjy gave the holiday 5 woofs out of 5.

Lovely little accommodation in a peaceful location. Clean, light and modern with a lovely outlook. Lots of little extras around the property. I was really pleased that the garden area was fenced and secure for my young terrior. Enjoyed my short break very much and would definitely return.
