Facilities
Public car parks
Public car parks are open. Please see signage in individual car parks for charges. Parking on Perranporth main street is currently limited, to allow more space for pedestrians to pass each other. This will be reviewed each week as the summer progresses.
Public toilets
The toilets in the beach car park and by the boating lake are open.
Lifeguards
Lifeguards are on duty on Perranporth beach, Trevaunance Cove in St Agnes, and Chapel Porth, daily from 10.00 to 18.00. This service is running until 6th September 2020, however the end date will be regularly reviewed, taking government guidelines into account.
Post Office
Perranporth Post Office is open six days a week, with their opening hours 10.00 – 14.00 Monday to Friday and 09.00 to 12.30 on Saturday. Closed on Sundays.
Library
Perranporth library is currently not open to the public to be able to the enter the building. Books can be dropped off only and a collection system implemented for picking books up.
Banks
There are currently no banking facilities in the village while Lloyds mobile banking is suspended until further notice. Cash machines are available at both Co-op stores, and cash may be withdrawn from the post office counter.
Launderette
The launderette on The Gounce is open from 08.00 to 22.00 daily.
Doctors Surgery
The surgery is open, with new regulations in place. If necessary, please call 01872 572255 to make an initial phone appointment with a doctor. Please do not visit the surgery but phone instead.
Boots the Chemist and Pharmacy
Boots is open six days a week, including the prescription counter.
Perranporth Country Market
The country market is running on Friday mornings again selling fresh fish and vegetables from the Memorial Hall.
Surf hire
Bathsheba Surf is open for business. Surfboards and body boards can be hired and picked up outside after paying and dropped off outside when finished.
Piran Surf is also open and offering board and wetsuit hire.
Surf hire is also available from the Ticket to Ride surf school.
Shops
Shops have re-opened throughout the village, selling pasties, ice creams and all your holiday memorabilia. The butchers and the bakery are both open as is Healeys Cyder Farm shop and Callestick Ice Cream, with restrictions in place.
There are two Co-ops in Perranporth, one on Station Road and the other at Red House on Boscawen Road, both open 07.00 to 22.00 seven days a week.
We are experiencing a large influx of visitors this summer. As these small local shops only have capacity for a few shoppers at a time, it would be appreciated if guests could bring some of their own supplies with them, to avoid long queues and the shelves being emptied.
Avoid the supermarket shop altogether and support Cornish farmers and food producers with veg, dairy, meat and fish boxes from the Cornish Food Box Co.
Food
Pubs and restaurants have re-opened offering either outdoor areas, or limited capacity inside, and with waiter service or ordering via apps. Many require pre-booking to adhere to social distancing. Most are also offering takeaway for collection.
Haddocks End, Browns, and Pickwicks Fish and chips shops are open for takeaways as are Piran Thai, Mei Kitchen, Jaipur and Massala. Pasties and ice-creams are all available in the village, with takeaway coffee and cake from Alcatraz, by the beach.
