Sleeps 6 | Bedrooms 3 | Perranporth | Dog friendly
A traditional character cottage in Perranporth, just a few minutes from the beach and level walk into the village. Sleeps six with two doubles and a twin bedroom.
A lovely traditional Cornish cottage with a good sized south facing garden, Treth Cottage is a terraced three bedroom property dating back to 1850, situated only 150 metres from Perranporth's beautiful beach.
Entry is in through the back from the parking space, directly into the kitchen which is fitted with pale blue units, an electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and combined washer/dryer. A separate dining room is furnished with dining table and six chairs, and the sunny sitting room provides a comfortable sofa, three armchairs and a TV with DVD player.
Full of character and charm, Treth Cottage has beamed ceilings and tiled flooring, and as with many older cottages please be aware that there are some doorways and stairwells with restricted height.
Two bedrooms on the first floor are furnished with a double bed in each (4'6" each) and the shower room on this floor is fitted with a shower cubicle and basin. The WC is in a separate room. Up again to the second floor, there is restricted headroom up the stairs to bedroom three, which has two single beds (3' each). Treth Cottage is heated by Economy 7 heaters and has a telephone for incoming and emergency calls only.
Outside, the enclosed garden at the front offers a lush green lawn and garden furniture. The garden is separated from the back door by a small public footpath (rarely used), and the driveway fits one car. A shed close to the parking space is useful for storing bikes and beach equipment.

Beach Life
Perranporth boasts a beautiful three mile long sandy beach with undulating dunes, a tidal swimming pool built into the striking Chapel Rock, and rock pools that are perfect for paddling. Swim and surf in the big blue, explore caves and enjoy the space to stretch, run and breathe. Take a picnic for lazy hazy days in the dunes or take the dog and relish the three mile expanse of golden sand.
Culture and History
St Piran, the patron saint of Cornwall, is said to have washed up on Perranporth’s shores, and the remains of his 6th century oratory can still viewed in the dunes. Perranporth was the site for two tin mines in years gone by and the inspiration for Winston Graham’s Poldark novels which were all written here. High above the beach the millennium sundial tracks Cornish time (approximately 12 minutes later than GMT).
Food and Drink
From fine dining to fish and chips on the promenade, Perranporth has a wide array of food and drink, so you can treat yourself to time away from the kitchen. Share delicious tapas, try vegan street food, or enjoy great bar food in sunny gardens. Local takeaways include Indian, Chinese, Thai and pizza, and remember to leave room for an indulgent Cornish ice cream or post dinner local gin!
Get Active
The north coast of Cornwall is made for adventure. In addition to the wild playgrounds of the beaches there are also loads of organised activities available too. Book lessons with a surf school, gallop a horse along the beach, and play tennis at beautifully maintained grass and hard courts. There’s also a links golf course in the dunes, hang-gliding, a bowling green, children’s play park and boating lake.
Local Attractions
There’s plenty to see and do in the local area, without having to travel too far. Within a short drive of all our properties, visitors can pet farm animals and sample the local cyder at Healeys Cyder Farm, find out how ice cream is made (and of course treat yourself to some!) at Callestick Farm Cornish Ice Cream, and discover the ruins of St Piran’s Oratory in the sand dunes at Perranporth. Dairyland, with horse rides, farm animals, and a huge soft play area, is a great day out for families with young children, as is Lappa Valley Steam Railway with train rides and play park and exploring creatures of the deep at Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium at Towan Beach.
Explore Cornwall
Slightly further afield is The Eden Project with its famous biomes, the National Trust houses of Lanhydrock, Trelissick and Trerice, and the spectacular gardens of Glendurgan, Trebah and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From the rugged and dramatic north coast to the sheltered harbours of south coast fishing villages, everyone is bound to find a corner of Cornwall that captures their heart. Visit St Ives for cobbled streets and art galleries including the Tate St Ives, walk the causeway to St Michael’s Mount island off Marazion, and explore Falmouth’s fascinating maritime history. Padstow is a foodie’s heaven, while Truro boasts a stunning Gothic Revival cathedral and is the county’s shopping hub.

We stayed in treth cottage in perranporth, it's a lovely old cottage with every amenity you will need during your stay, even has a dishwasher, plenty of space and a lovely garden with gate for your 4 legged friends to go mad on. It's position makes it reachable to both the beach and the many shops and pubs locally. So easy to book using aspect holidays.

Excellent location and value for money. Good range of facilities. Very comfortable beds. Loved the shed with lots of beach equipment and toys provided for the whole family.

Treth Cottage is in an ideal position, deceptively larger on the inside than you imagine from the outside views. The garden is a nice spot to relax in (weather permitting). Parking at the rear of the property is perfect.
Mind your head in the annex.
Mr Coltman
Treth cottage didn't disappoint again. It has been our second time staying there and we will definitely book again for the following year. It is quaint and has character. Excellent location.
Thanks

Location is the key for this cottage, excellent location close to shops, bars and the beach also a bus stop very close by.
Cottage is very comfortable maybe a little tlc is required around the place but it did not spoil my enjoyment of the holiday after all it is an old cottage, parking space at the rear is a little tight especially if the neighbours have visitors, but overall we had a fantastic time, I would recommend this house to anyone but just make them aware of its quirky style.
Mr Harrop
Having recently stayed at Treth Cottage, We were very happy with the standard of accommodation
The beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water for showers etc
The kitchen is well equipped ,we particularly liked the ability to use outside washing line and garden space
The proximity to the beach and shops is brilliant.
The only point I would make is that anyone with mobility issues may find the deep steps in the property a bit problematic, likewise the steep stairs to bedrooms
Also the parking space is quite a small turning space - reverse in to make life easier
( but it was very safe and off the road) and also there's the entry to property via kitchen - key code box is on wall there - beware of deep step down into kitchen ??
All in all Treth Cottage is a nice central place to stay ,with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing holiday ?? ??
Ms Enright
Great place and a great stay - would definitely recommend. But depending on your vehicle, parking may be tight at the rear of the cottage.

An excellent space, very close to the beach, clean, comfortable and brilliant value for money.

A very cold damp kitchen in colder months. Beds comfortable though. I would bring my duvet in future as I hate winter duvets. Tho I doubt I'd book this cottage again. Parking out the back of cottage for one car. Try not to look at next door as it looks like a breakers yard. Engine parts, tyres, wheels amongst many. It is a shame as the cottage could be great.
Mrs Bush
Treth cottage is a lovely cottage situated in a prime location. Easy access to the beach and town. The cottage itself has character as a cottage should have. Beams and low ceiling - so becareful to mind your head. I would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone who looking to book a holiday. We will be returning again next year. Thanks Treth cottage and Aspects for a great holiday.

This is a great little cottage full of character. Great location - can walk to shops and beach in under 5 minutes. And you also get to park without needing to drive through the town when it can get busy.
