A lovely semi-detached traditional Cornish cottage in the peaceful and picturesque hamlet of Bolingey, Underthuel Cottage offers contemporary and comfortable accommodation to sleep four in two bedrooms. Located in a tranquil countryside location, the cottage is still only just over one mile (20 minutes’ walk) from Perranporth’s huge beautiful sandy beach and renowned surf break, and literally moments from The Bolingey Inn, a charming 17th century pub serving food and local ales.
The property is entered through French doors to a light filled kitchen/diner with wooden herringbone flooring in the dining room and a tiled floor in the kitchen. Fully equipped, the kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, and washing machine. The dining area is furnished with an oak table and four chairs.
A step leads up to the cottage sitting room with low beamed ceilings and pretty arched window. The room is furnished with a corner sofa, two comfy chairs and a coffee table. A wood burner, 32" Smart TV with Freeview, make this a cosy place to curl up at the end of a long day sightseeing. The stairwell is open to the sitting room and ascends to a split-level first floor.
Bedroom one is a lovely spacious dual aspect room overlooking the courtyard, furnished with a low super-king-size bed (6’), tall chest of drawers and large walk-in wardrobe. Bedroom two has twin beds (3’ each), a chest of drawers and built-in cupboard. The bathroom is fresh and light and benefits from underfloor heating and a heated towel rail. With a tiled floor, shower fitted over the bath, toilet, basin and heated towel rail.
Outside, a courtyard area with outdoor furniture and flower beds is a wonderful place to sit in the sun, listen to the birdsong, and enjoy a barbecue. A washing line is provided for hanging wetsuits and an outside tap is handy for washing sand off after a day at the beach.
Underthuel Cottage adjoins the owners’ house next door (please be aware that the owners’ dog is occasionally outside), however it is a self-contained property with its own entrance, outdoor area and parking space for one car. Heated by modern electric radiators and the wood burner, fuel for the wood burner can be purchased from the owner next door.
Bolingey is a peaceful hamlet nestled in a pretty valley. A mostly level walk from the hustle and bustle of Perranporth, it is near enough to walk to the seaside shops, bars and restaurants, but far enough away to retreat if you prefer a quiet and restful break! There are many activities in the nearby vicinity including beautiful walks, horse riding and golf.
